Advanced Technology and Management (DIATM) society came into existence
with a philanthropic view in mind to impart quality but affordable
teaching and training avenue to the masses. The foundation started in a
humble way but by forsight it progressed in leaps and bounds to achieve
todays position. Adding upon the above venture is new wing Gouridevi
Insitutute of Medical Sciences and hospital which is coming up with a
farsighted vision of Mr. R.N Majumder supported by his dedicated team,

Prof. Sahoo is a dedicated academician
& medical teacher par excellence having 25 years of experience after
his post-graduation from the University of Delhi. He has published a
number of scientific articles in various national & international
indexed medical journals and also authored medical text books. Prof.

General Objectives
The Society aims to achieve both a social and an educational objective with this project.
- Social objective: the primary objective of the project is to bring quality health care within the reach of common man in the district of BURDWAN and to reduce the gap between the demand and supply of health care in the region.
- Educational objective: by setting up educational institutions the Society wants to train the future health care personnel and increase the number of doctors in the society and bring down the existing patient-doctor ratio in the region and reduce the burden on the over-burdened medical fraternity of today.

General Objectives of the MBBS Program
The undergraduate students coming out from Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences:
- Be competent in diagnosis and management of common health problems of the individual and community, commensurate with his/her position as a member of the health care team at the primary secondary or tertiary levels using his/her clinical skills based on history, physical examination and relevant investigations;
- Be competent to practice preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative medicine in respect to the commonly encountered health problems;
- Appreciate rationale for different therapeutic modalities, be familiar with the administration of the ‘essential drugs’ and their common side effects;
- Be able to appreciate the socio-psychological, cultural, economic and environmental factor affecting health and develop humane attitude towards the patients in discharging one’s professional responsibilities;
- Possess the attitude for continued self-learning and to seek further expertise or to pursue research in any chosen area of medicine;
- Be familiar with basic factors which are essential for the implementation of the National Health Programmes including practical aspects of the following:
- Family Welfare & Maternal and Child Health [MCH]
- Sanitation and water supply
- Prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable disease
- Immunization and
- Health Education
- Acquire basic management skills in the area of human resources, materials and resource management related to health care delivery;
- Be able to identify community health problem and learn to work to resolve these by designing, instituting corrective steps and evaluating outcome of such measures.
- Be able to work in a variety of health care settings; and
- Have personal characteristics and attitudes required for professional life such as personal integrity, sense of responsibility and dependability and ability to relate to or show concern for other individuals.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification & Eligibility:
Candidates who have passed HS examination (Academic Stream of 10+2
curriculum) of any State/CBSE/ISC or any other examination recognized as
equivalent thereto, with the group subjects specified below and
obtained the minimum eligible marks of 50% in Physics, Chemistry &
Biology taking together and pass in English in the qualifying
examination.
Age Limit:
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st
December of the academic year. Date of birth given in the Mark
Sheet/Admit Card of any recognized board or council or in the Birth
Certificate/Passport shall be taken for computing age of the candidate.
Seats Distribution of Annual 150 intake
The annual intake of candidates for I MBBS would be one hundred
fifty. Of them fifty students would be admitted based on the marks
obtained in the Medical Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE/ WB-JEE
(Med)/ and Government of India Nominee.
The selection for one hundred seats would be purely based on the
marks obtained in the medical entrance examination conducted by the
Institute and Management quota. The management reserves the right and
discretion of selection of candidates.
