Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) a constituent of KIIT University,
offers a unique combination of experience and expertise. Located in an
ultra-modern and eco-friendly campus, it has two wings – The Hospital and The Medical College (for MBBS & M.D. courses).
‘The Medical College’ offers MBBS course at the undergraduate level
with an annual intake of 100 students as well as M.D. Course at
postgraduate level. A high academic standard is maintained by an
experienced and dedicated team of professors, clinicians and
scientists, who are engaged in teaching research and developing
technologies in health care. The courses are approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and the Medical Council of India (MCI).
The Medical College has 21 academic departments, providing the study,
treatment and prevention of human diseases and maternity care.
Admission to the M.B.B.S. and M.D. courses through KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE), an all India entrance test conducted by KIIT University. |

Admission into M.B.B.S. Programme
Eligibility
|
10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology &
English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology
taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics,
Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.
Age: Lower age should be 17 years as on 31.12.2016 & upper
age limit should be maximum 25 years as on 31.12.2016. The upper age
limit may be relaxed by five year for SC/ST candidates. |
Admission Procedure
Admission into the M.B.B.S. Programme is through KIITEE 2016. KIITEE is the gateway to admission into prestigious KIIT University.

Admission into M.D. Programme
|
Eligibility
|
(a) |
The candidate must be an Indian National. |
(b) |
A candidate, who holds M.B.B.S. degree from a
recognised medical college of India or a foreign medical degree included
in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has
obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or
any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating
internship shall be eligible to take this examination.

(c) |
A candidate who, after passing the final qualifying examination
(MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing
12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely
to complete the same by 31st March, 2016 can take up this examination,
but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has
completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full
registration on or before 31st March, 2016. |
(d) |
The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical
Colleges from where the candidates have passed their MBBS Degree Course
and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the 2016 will be 31st October, 2015. The Colleges recognised after this date will not be considered.

(e) |
Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council is
necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of
counselling.

KIMS offers MD course at the Postgraduate level. Admission is purely on merit on the basis of KIITEE, an all India entrance test conducted by KIIT University. |

Academic Programme Committee |
There is an Academic Programme Committee
with the Principal of KIMS as its Chairman. This Committee coordinates
the administration of the academic programme and optimum utilisation of
resources. The Committee meets as and when required, but at least once
during every six months. The Chairman of the Committee convenes the
meeting. |

Scheme of examination

There will be one paper of 3 hours 30 min duration and 15 minutes of test tutorial |

The test comprises 300 multiple choice, single correct response only. |

There will be no negative marking. |

Candidates shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their
Question only. Any conversation or gesticulation or disturbance in the
Examination Hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour. If a candidate is
found using unfair means or impersonating, his/her candidature shall be
cancelled and will be debarred from the Examination.
